This anguished piece by Juan Alais has been arranged for mezzo soprano with piano reduction (originally written for guitar). It is written in the key of C minor with a vocal range of Bb3-Eb5. The piano part is a true accompaniment and does not double the vocal melody throughout. Juan Alais (1844 - 1914) was an Argentine musician of British descent. He is known as the pioneer of concert guitar. With its original Spanish text, two verses, and two contrasting sections, this makes an excellent piece for someone looking to perform a work by an underrepresented composer!
The PDF download contains both a full score and a set of individual parts - Treble Solo and Piano. The vocal part has been formatted on a single page.
