Perhaps the most famous folk song in Korea, this soaring arrangement of "Arirang" is for string orchestra or quintet and piano. The melody is passed throughout the orchestra, with lush harmonies in the beginning and a lively middle section. Although there is a piano part, this piece is harmonically stable as a string ensemble on its own. This is an uplifting addition to any concert program!
