This is the piano accompaniment of Fanny Hensel's "Auf der Wanderung" for low voice. It is written in the key of D Major with a vocal range of C#4-D5. Because the piano and voice start at the same time, it includes a starting pitch for the singer at the beginning. Ludwig Tieck, a friend of Wilhelm Hensel, wrote the poem, which originally consisted of five stanzas with six lines each. It comes from the first volume of his Romantische Dichtungen.
