This is the piano accompaniment track for the first movement of J.S. Bach’s “Violin Concerto in A minor.” As a collaborative pianist, I have played this with many young students who often take an ambitiously fast tempo and end up in trouble by the time they get to the first 32nd note passage in measure 44/rehearsal B. This was recorded with a metronome to ensure a rock solid, manageable tempo throughout, with a quarter note = 66. The recording includes a 4 bar intro to give the soloist time to prepare to come in. I have also dropped a few octaves in places to avoid sounding too heavy. This is an excellent selection for an advancing intermediate student. Performed by Wendy Hellmann.
