This is the first of six easy duets by Jacques Offenbach. This duet is comprised of 3 contrasting movements - Allegro, Andante, and Rondo. Originally written for two cellos, it has been arranged for viola and double bass. Both instruments alternate melodic and harmonic material throughout, with easy double stops and simple key changes from G Major, G minor, E minor, and E Major. Thoughtful bowings and phrasings have been included. This is a wonderful duet for students looking for something fun to do together, and will certainly help with rhythm, intonation, and ensemble!
