This tender arrangement of the Evening Prayer from Hansel and Gretel has been arranged for two violins with piano accompaniment. It is in the original key of D Major. The two violins carry the soprano duet as heard in the opera, and at the end they contain some of the content found in the original score. Violin 1 shifts briefly to 3rd position, while Violin 2 stays entirely in 1st position. The piano part is a true accompaniment and does not double the melody throughout except in a few measures for support. Helpful bowings and phrasings have been included throughout. This is an excellent addition to your classical repertoire!
