This jaunty Scottish tune by Teresa Carreño has been arranged for the intermediate pianist. It is written in the original key of C Major and features easy jumps in the left hand and fun double dotted rhythms in the right hand. Harmonic intervals stretch up to a seventh, while melodic intervals will help the hand reach an octave. There are also many moments for ritardandos and fermatas. Teresa Carreño (1853 - 1917) was a Venezuelan pianist, soprano, composer, and conductor. She was internationally known as the "Valkyrie of Piano." With its 2 contrasting sections, this piece makes an excellent choice for a student recital!
