This arrangement of the Peruvian folk song "Llanto del Indio" is for the late beginner student and teacher duo. Both hands in piano primo play 8va higher throughout and the melody is played in an A minor scale between the hands and includes the use of G#. The beginning features time changes from 4/4 to 5/4 to 3/4. Piano secondo plays a walking bass line and offbeat chords throughout. Notes have been slightly enlarged in piano primo for easy reading. This melancholic melody is typical of the high Andes, and reminds me of my travels to Cusco. The top melody can be imagined as a pan flute, while the accompaniment is similar to a guitar.
