The Boy Paganini | Piano accompaniment (violin)

$2.99

This is the piano accompaniment track for Edward Mollenhauer’s “The Boy Paganini” for violin. The tempo is a realistic performance tempo of around quarter note = 108 in the Fantasia/intro and slightly slower (quarter note = 100) for the theme and variation. The final allegro section is around dotted quarter note = 72, making the spiccato much more manageable. The piano plays the first notes with the violin during the theme and variation and includes a 4 bar intro to help the violinist get a sense of the tempo before coming in. Mollenhauer was an American violinist and pedagague, with many of his instructive pieces such as this one still being popular repertoire for advancing students. This is an excellent selection for students beginning to shift to and just above the halfway harmonic. Performed by Wendy Hellmann.
