This arrangement of Silent Night is an excellent solo for the advancing intermediate double bassist. It is written in the key of G Major and includes the theme and one variation. The solo can be played in thumb position, corresponding with the George Vance Vol. 2 method, and is written using both treble and bass clefs. The piano accompaniment is a true accompaniment and does not double the melody throughout. It is carefully written to avoid clashing with the bass part.
