This arrangement of Silent Night is an excellent solo for the early intermediate violist. It is written in the key of G Major and includes the theme and one variation. The solo can be played entirely in first position, but requires comfort with slurring 3 notes in one bow and dotted quarter / eighth note rhythms. The piano part is a true accompaniment and does not double the viola part throughout. Thoughtful bowings and dynamics have been included. This is perfect for any holiday program!
