This traditional Christmas carol is arranged for solo bass and piano, with the advanced intermediate bassist in mind. It starts in G Major with a beautiful modulation with jazzy 7th chords to D Major and requires the bassist to play the second melody entirely in thumb position between the halfway harmonic and the octave D harmonic on the G string. The piano part is a true accompaniment and does not double the melody. Thoughtful bowings and dynamics have been included throughout. This is an excellent addition to any holiday program!
