This traditional Christmas carol is arranged for solo cello and piano, with the early intermediate cellist in mind. It starts in G Major with a beautiful modulation with jazzy 7th chords to D Major and requires the cellist to play a short descant with one simple shift to 4th position at the end while the piano plays the melody. The piano part is a true accompaniment and does not double the melody. Thoughtful bowings and dynamics have been included throughout. This is an excellent addition to any holiday program!
