$2.99

This is the piano accompaniment track for Tonada de la niña perdida by Joaquín Nin. his sweet tone poem comes from Nin’s “Veinte cantos populares españoles” and has been transposed down a minor third from G Major to E Major, making it suitable for mezzo sopranos with a one octave range of E4-E5. It tells the story of a girl who was going to make a pilgrimage with her mother, but in her excitement to show that she is more devoted, she goes alone and takes a different path. Finding herself lost on a mountainside, she decides to take a nap under an oak tree. This set of pieces dates from 1923-24, with this particular melody likely coming from the region of Spain that is now known as Castilla y León. Performed by Wendy Hellmann.
