This is the first movement of Vivaldi's Violin Concerto in A minor, Op. 3, No. 6 transposed to G minor for solo double bass. It has minimal phrasings and bowings, as well as no fingerings. It is a challenging bass part, hopping from tenor to bass clef throughout the arrangement, but most can be played cleverly in thumb position. The piano part is similar to what is heard in the original ensemble - sparse chordal accompaniment that does not overlap the octave of the bass. This is an excellent piece for an advancing player that is gaining confidence in higher positions.
