This is the piano accompaniment track for Vivaldi’s Violin Concerto in A minor, Op. 3, No. 6, Mvt I, transposed to G minor for the double bass. The track starts with a 6 beat intro (beats 3-4-1-2-3-4) so that the bass does not have to start with a pickup note. It was recorded with a metronome at quarter note = 72 so that the fast arpeggio passage towards the end is more manageable. The piano part is similar to what is heard in the original ensemble - sparse chordal accompaniment that does not overlap the octave of the bass. This is an excellent piece for an advancing player that is gaining confidence in higher positions across all strings. Arranged and performed by Wendy Hellmann.
