Looking Ahead: March 2026

I can’t believe February is almost over! We had 2 snowstorms, I celebrated my 36th birthday, and I was honored to play with budding violinist Satchit Mainali in the James Bland Music Competition — we played Prokofiev’s 2nd Violin Concerto and placed 2nd! Coming up this weekend is a full day workshop with a local piano tech to fully regulate a spare piano I have, as well as recordings for the NATS competition with 4 students of vocalist Kristin Gavaza.

I have biweekly videos coming out on my YouTube channel, so mark your calendars:

March 03 - Bach Concerto in A minor, Mvt I (piano accompaniment for violin)
March 06 - Telemann Concerto in G Major, Mvt II (piano accompaniment for viola)
March 10 - Romberg Sonata in E minor (piano accompaniment for cello)
March 13 - Merry-Go-Round of Life from Howl’s Moving Castle (advanced piano solo)
March 17 - Merry-Go-Round of Life from Howl’s Moving Castle (intermediate piano solo)
March 20 - La calle de la paloma by Edward Kilenyi (piano accompaniment for low voice)
March 24 - Vivaldi “Winter,” Mvt I (advanced piano solo)
March 27 - Monti Czardas (piano accompaniment for violin)
March 31 - Massenet Meditation from Thais (piano accompaniment for violin)

I had a ton of fun with arrangements this month. The Vivaldi “Winter” piano solo is probably one of my favorite arrangements for piano that I’ve ever done. It’s a good mix of challenge and fun, and people are sure to recognize it, even if they don’t know it by name. A student asked for it, which led me for a search for sheet music that is already published and arrangements that are posted on IMSLP. As is sadly the case for a lot of arrangements, what I found just wasn’t legible or playable, so of course I had to come up with my own version. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Finally, there are 2 days left until the Solo & Ensemble registration form is due for District XI schools. If you’re looking for an accompanist, don’t hesitate to get in touch!
